How to make the perfect omelet

Omelets are one of my favorite foods to eat at breakfast. How can you make them perfectly? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So today, I want to share some tips and tricks with you so you can make your own delicious and fluffy omelets every morning.

First, eggs can be very temperamental ingredients for making omelets. You must get them fresh, organically, and keep them cold until you cook. If you don't keep them cold enough, the whites won't form properly, and the yolks will break down too much and become runny. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you intend to cook your eggs immediately, it's best to use room-temperature egg.

Another tip is to separate each egg before adding them to the saucepan. It is important not to allow any white to mix with the yolk as this could lead to the omelet becoming curdled.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, heat the egg in a microwave for 10 seconds and then place it in a pan. The microwave heat cooks the eggs just right without overcooking them.

Let's now talk about mixing eggs. When mixing eggs, it is important to thoroughly beat them. You need to turn the bowl of the mixer upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. The first step is to pour half of the milk in the beaten eggs. Next, fold the eggs into the remaining milk. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After folding the eggs, place the pan on medium heat and wait for the oil to start sizzling. Add 1/4 cup butter to the oil and swirl it around to coat all sides of the pan. Next, carefully open the lid and sprinkle salt into your pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Once the omelet has formed, cover the pan again and wait for the top side to set completely. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Take the omelet out of the pan and immediately serve.

This recipe is best made with whole milk. However, it can also be used with skimmed milk.
